Dr. Rama Ronen has over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. As a mother now to older children herself, she brings deep empathy, curiosity, and compassion to her work supporting families through the transition to parenthood and beyond.
Rama specializes in working with individuals and couples during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting, while also supporting parents and families at later developmental stages. Her work may include individual therapy with mothers and fathers, couples therapy, and support around parent–infant attachment. She focuses on helping families feel supported, understood, and equipped with practical skills as they navigate life transitions. Rama integrates evidence-based approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, and somatic techniques, into her work. Her couples work is informed by advanced training through The Couples Institute, and she is also a LYRA provider.
Previously, Rama served as the lead therapist in the MOMS Program at El Camino Hospital, where she developed extensive expertise in maternal mood and anxiety disorders and the unique emotional challenges of the perinatal period.
Rama also facilitated the Listening Mothers program, an eight-week mother–infant research project at UCSF designed to examine the impact of mindfulness and self-compassion on maternal well-being and infant development.
She holds a Certificate of Training in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International (PSI).
